Sapphire & Diamonds Ring

Sapphire & Diamonds Ring

This design is based on an Edwardian ring salvaged from the wreck of the Titanic. A group of jewelry items were found in a leather Gladstone bag in the purser's office by divers from RMS Titanic, Inc. The items were 2.5 miles underwater for 75 years, but were well preserved by the tanned leather of the bag. The specific owners of the individual pieces are not known. The company is now touring a collection of 15 items as a traveling exhibit, Jewels of Titanic, in venues in Atlanta, Orlando, and Las Vegas.

The center gemstone is a natural 0.96 carat sapphire. It is accented with a total of 0.27 carats of diamonds, flush set in the pave style with decorative milgraining and bright cuts. The halo of bright flashes and rainbow twinkles is captivating and draws the eye to the lovely sapphire.

Jenny developed the openwork under the top by studying various pieces of the period. Our Mardon ring shank makes the ring well balanced and comfortable to wear plus the extra wide bottom of the shank adds durability and years of wear. The ring is stunning and beautiful to behold, and it's an original work based on history. With its connection to one of the most famous historical events of the 20th century, you'll always have a story to tell when you wear this strikingly beautiful ring.
