Custom Bill Wall Rolex Submariner: the Ultimate Harley-Davidson Accessory

December 11th, 2008 by James L. Sweaney, CGA, FGA. GG

Harley riders are known for customizing their bikes with loads of chrome and plenty of fancy leather. We just acquired a perfect watch that will show off the rider too!

When we purchased this watch, I wasn’t familiar with the Bill Wall phenomenon—the owner offhandedly said “The bracelet is a Bill Wall original,” which went right over my head.  In researching the provenance, I was amazed by the story.

Bill Wall is a famous designer of leather riding gear and silver jewelry. His company, Bill Wall Leather, is headquartered in Malibu and has been making fine leather garments and silver and gold jewelry since 1985. Over the years, he’s developed a huge and passionate international following who collect his work, including bikers and many celebrities, stars and musicians like Britney Spears, Elijah Wood, and Eric Clapton (my favorite). One of his fan clubs can be found at http://www.bwl1usa.com/

This unusual “Fleur de Lis” bracelet was custom-made for the original owner and is mated to a classic stainless steel Rolex Submariner.  The “Sub,” the most popular Rolex ever made, is the original “James Bond” watch.  The watch is in mint condition, worn very little – it still has the original plastic shields along the sides of the watch.

The bracelet, of sterling silver and karat gold, is signed “005 by Bill Wall.” It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches from loop to toggle, and should fit an average-sized wrist.  Big guys would have to contact Bill to size it up.
